PANSOLE

PANSOLE is a conceptual gaming brand identity exploring how minimal shapes and playful character design can define a company’s visual voice. The name combines “Panda” and “Console,” reflecting a mix of softness and precision—two qualities often found in gaming culture.
Influenced by pixel aesthetics and classic PlayStation button symbols, the identity reimagines how a gaming brand could express nostalgia and modernity at once. From logo animation to merchandise, PANSOLE aims to capture the fun, energy, and connection that gaming brings to people’s lives.

Early Stage

During the early exploration phase, I experimented with different ways to merge the panda’s round, friendly shapes with recognizable gaming button symbols like ◯, ☐, △, and ✕ from PlayStation controllers. Multiple logo versions were tested, focusing on readability, symmetry, and the ability to scale across different formats. I eventually refined the logo into a controller-shaped panda mark, removing the circular background to keep it clean, scalable, and easily recognizable.

Development

After finalizing the logo, I expanded the visual identity into a gaming-inspired branding system. The design uses pixel fonts, bold monochrome contrasts, and controller symbol patterns to express the technical yet playful side of the brand.
I then developed a merchandise series — including headphones, mugs, packaging boxes, and a stationery set — to visualize how the brand could extend into lifestyle products that resonate with gaming communities.

Final Design

The final PANSOLE identity unites playful character design with a structured gaming aesthetic. The combination of monochrome colors, pixel typography, and controller-inspired motifs creates a brand that feels both nostalgic and modern. Each product — from the packaging to lifestyle merchandise — highlights how the visual system can extend beyond digital platforms into tangible, collectible items.
Through this project, I aimed to explore how minimalist design and subtle humor can coexist within gaming culture, resulting in a brand that celebrates creativity, connection, and the joy of play.
