A Taste of Tradition
A Taste of Tradition is a cultural storytelling project celebrating Vietnam's regions, flavors, and timeless traditions. Through an interactive website, booklet design, and a social media campaign, the project blends modern digital design with traditional Vietnamese motifs to create a warm, immersive experience.
This project explores how design can preserve, celebrate, and communicate cultural identity in a contemporary way. My goal was to create a visual experience that feels welcoming, nostalgic, and meaningful while staying clean and easy to navigate.
Early Stage
In the early stage of this project, I focused on establishing the overall direction and visual identity. I experimented with color palettes inspired by Vietnamese culture, sketched layout ideas for the website and booklet, and explored different ways to represent regional stories and food traditions. During this phase, I refined the concept of combining modern digital design with traditional Vietnamese motifs, which later became the foundation of the final visual style.

The Instagram carousel uses organic blob shapes, bold photography, and regional color accents to create a modern, youthful way to explore Vietnam. Each slide highlights a region through texture, movement, and storytelling.
This project allowed me to combine cultural storytelling with modern digital and print design. I learned how to build a cohesive visual system across multiple platforms, maintain clarity within a rich color palette, and adapt traditional motifs into contemporary layouts. Most importantly, this project helped me connect my design work with personal heritage—turning culture, food, and memories into a meaningful visual experience.
